Tim Brown

Tim Brown is an award-winning composer and producer based in Nashville, Tennessee. He began his career under the mentorship of Bill Porter, a TEC Hall of Fame engineer, before branching out on his own to establish VML, which later became Downtown Recording. Over the years, he has built a reputation for creating impactful music across a wide range of media, from television and film to radio and commercial advertising.

His compositions have been featured in everything from Monday Night Football to McDonald’s commercials, as well as the television special Restoration, which aired on PaxTV. When the number-one-rated radio show Keep The Faith needed a fresh theme for both their CCM and Country programs, Tim composed the theme and provided music for interstitials throughout the broadcasts. His work has been licensed over 60,000 times and can be heard across a variety of media platforms.

As a producer and engineer, Tim has worked with artists including Billy Ray Cyrus, Duke Robillard, J.P. Pennington, Mark Smeby, Pavel Dovgalyuk, Steven Curtis Chapman, Bodeco, Davinci’s Shadow, and Masked Panic. His production of Mary Did You Know for Mark Smeby reached number 11 on the Amazon Christmas charts and number 2 on the Amazon Christian Christmas charts. He also writes and produces music for RRHOT, a go-to source for custom music on CBS Sports and WBD Networks, with his compositions featured in major sporting events such as the Super Bowl and March Madness. When not in the studio, Tim runs his company, Brown House Creative LLC, and teaches at Belmont University in the Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business.
