Walter White

  • Renowned jazz trumpeter and Yamaha Artist.

  • BB XL album reached JazzWeek’s Top 40.

  • Collaborated with icons like Wynton Marsalis.

Walter White is a dynamic and expressive trumpet and flugelhorn player with a distinctive voice. His playing, described as "darkly incantatory, furiously intense, risk-laden, harmonically astute, rhythmically free, with roiling passion tempering a sharp intellect" by Charlie Hunt of the Detroit Free Press, showcases both technical mastery and deep emotional resonance. Leading both the Walter White Jazz Quartet and the Walter White Big Band, he explores both original compositions and exciting arrangements of jazz standards and classical works. His latest album, BB XL, featuring an all-star band, reached the top 40 on the national JazzWeek charts, while previous releases, Breaking Good (with Small Medium @ Large) and Most Triumphant, also enjoyed significant radio play and chart success.

A Yamaha Artist & Clinician and Brand Ambassador for Robinson’s Remedies Lip Renew, White is also a dedicated educator, offering private instruction, master classes, and clinics both nationally and internationally (currently primarily online). He recently served as the Virtual Guest Artist-In-Residence with the Rutgers University Jazz Program, directed by Conrad Herwig. Growing up in a musical family near Detroit, Michigan, White's talent has led to collaborations with leading figures in music, including Bob James, Maynard Ferguson, Dave Holland, the Mingus Big Band, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, and Arturo Sandoval.

White's playing has been featured in numerous recordings, films, and television programs. As a recording studio owner, he produces music for various media, including commercials, records, television, video games, and film. His influential educational tool, Walter White Long-tone Accompaniment, now in its fourth printing, has been used worldwide for over 26 years, with a Volume II released in 2019, further solidifying his commitment to music education.
