Earmilk: Ryan Collins dives into fighting personal demons on "Godspeed"

Ryan Collins dives into themes of fighting personal demons and choosing a different future on deeply personal offering "Godspeed," led by his poignant hip-hop styling. Grounded in his fight with alcoholism and taking responsibility to create a better life for his children, the thoughtful production weaves a tale of sobriety, stability and determination.

With his signature blend of hard-hitting production and direct storytelling, Collins' exploration of fatherhood juxtaposed against the effort to overcome his demons manages to balance intimate narrative with introspective ideas that are broader than his own experience.  Co-written by Collins' iDreamology record label head Rob Aster, the empowering anthem built around choosing to confront our obstacles rather than remain trapped in them, the track celebrates the choices required to keep moving forward.

Pulling from themes of resilience, growth, and redemption, “Godspeed” is a powerful number that focuses on a story that's unfolding rather than resolved as he bridges the gap between past and present with a confident flourish.

The profound track is accompanied by dramatic animated visuals directed, animated, and produced by Eli Lev of Lev Studio. Rooted in a  bold graphic-novel styling, the visual works in fiery orange-and-black tones to create a cinematic representation of the competitive spirit and perseverance  underlining the lyrics of the track.

Having started his rapping journey while in detention, Collins has carved out a distinct space for himself in hip-hop as he continues to evolve both his craft and his personal life as a father with equal dedication.
